June 25th, 2025

Well Well

Where is the time going to

However, at this time I failed to address

our War Heros who never came back

On Memorial Day

This is important because without

this type of patriotism

There would be no U.S.A.

So my apologies for not stating the above

on the day of remembrance

As a former Marine I feel that it is

my duty to remind everyone of the

scarifices our men in uniform  have made

Past, present and future

NOW BACK TO ABL

As previous stated the tariffs wars

which are taking its toll on most Americans

Is also taking its toll on Austin Baseball League

But since your Commish is an enternal opptmistic

type of person - will take a setback and

use it to get better, stronger, more efficient and more successful

However, this should serve as a reminder of

the importance of voting

and not just voting

but voting with your country and heart

Since we are in a loop for expecting

our econony to recover

Your Commish is almost finished

with his first book, "If you can't have fun

playing baseball

then maybe you should go play checkers"

Currently it is at the publishers for review,

update and any changes deemed necessary

AND IT IS GOING TO BE A GAME CHANGER

that will allow ABL to grow

And that is just the first book

Book two is going to knock

the socks of the baseball industry

and will be out next spring

We're looking for an e-launch in July or August

for Book One

This will make national news

so you won't miss it

All I can say for these blessings

is to thank my faith in the man upstairs

for without him I would not be here

Commish Frank T

Commish recently gave a lecture

on how to succeed in life

Bottom line, is that of the many elements

that it takes to become and stay successful

The most important one was

Taking care of yourself

Because if you don't - no one else will

With that said, Commish has been

taking care of himself

after 10 grueling seasons

An old military injury has come back

Luckily the VA has been helping

Hoping to play whenever our fields are ready

And speaking of our fields

Few knew this, but right before covid hit

ABL was looking at 195 acres of farm land

right in the area of Palmer and Cameron Rd

The Price as $1.5 million

Which was good price for land that

was already cleared and  had

the right slopes for many baseball fields

Covid scared many people and many people died

And so the money people held back

to see what the economy would look like in the future

So there went those plans

Now it's 2025 and we have been working on the infastructure

of the fields, ground work, layout, type and location

Along with our consession stands

Working with civil engineers, lawyers, architects

and financial people

Then the tariff wars began

and now the money people are worried

if we're  going to have a country

Until we get this situation resolved

things are going to and have been

slowing down and that's ok

This will give the time to

give the project creditibility

to do it right

What kind of time frame

We were hoping to start something

by the end of this year

Now it looks like next spring

And  that's ok too

as it gives teams a chance to be their best

because I assure you

the teams that are coming to play

will be   good, if not very good or

hard to beat

MORE TO COME AS IT COMES UP

 EVERYONE HAVE A GREAT 2025

Currently ABL is on hiatus

till we get our fields constructed and playable

See below and above for current status

It was decided if we were going to do this

Let's do it the right way

So hang in there as anything

worth while is worth waiting for

UPDATE 04/01/25

While an apology is fine

There has to be remedies

As Commish the responsibility to keep

things going falls on me

And from the beginning I accepted that

However, as our project seems to keep

getting bigger - it is taking longer

But be assured that regardless

of how long it takes -  it will happen

There are several positions that need attention

Like someone to help maintain

and develop this website

To include opening up an on-line store

that will offer ABL t-shirts, decals,

hats, polo type shirts and other

ABL type of merchandise

Whoever is selected for this position

will eventually become a partner

that will lead to a managerial position

In addition, we are in need of someone

to help with coordinating the development

of the different phases of construction

They will be 7 phases and upon completion

we'll have our first International Baseball Tournament

We will definitely need help with this

as we're talking many teams

from all over the world coming

to showcase their baseball skills

I hope everyone understands now

why things are taking longer

In addition to all this, your Commish

is almost done with a baseball book

for the novice player

Once the book is out - our future should

begin to gel much quicker

We're also working on 2 baseball inventions

A state of the art pitching machine

and a training machine that will

expedite practices for all positions

So here is an opportunity to be a part of history

This going to be fun and exciting

Interested?

Email me at ablbaseball2012@gmail.com

It takes more than a few dedicated persons

to do such a big endeavor

Do you have what it takes?

And my apologies for taking so long

between updates

Hopefully we'll get some believers

on board to maintain, move forward

and accomplish what we started in 2012

Speaking of 2012

We're tying to get a hold of Brandon Weber

Brandon was a big help in the beginning

to help ABL get started and grow

As Commish, I feel that he should be

a part of our success

If anyone knows his whereabouts

or how to get a hold of him

have him get a hold of me

I truly miss him

Commish Frank T

UPDATE 1/20/24

Much discussion is going around

Starting with the infrastructure

funding, etc

Hope to give an announcement

this Spring

So hang on

UPDATE 12/26/24

ABL is progressing slowly but progressing

No decision yet as to how

everything will be structured legally

But we're getting close

We're also getting close on possible locations

And we're also getting close on our start up funding

Lots to get excited about and we are

Still get a few calls, emails or text

mostly to check on this ole Commish

We'll believe me that

I have never been happier in my life

Lots to be grateful for

Still the project  just getting bigger

But we're not in any contest

Nor on a definitive time line

We just want to play ball

and make history in the process

So stay tuned for an annoucement this coming spring

UPDATE

What started out as our goal to build a 2-field complex

Has taken on a new vision

Cannot go into details yet

as all the legal matters need to be taken care of first

So stay tuned as Austin Baseball League

continues to make history

Once the legal work is done

we begin the infracture part

and there will be many more updates

coming as we  proceed

Commish Frank T

Hope everyone had a great holiday season

and may 2025 be everyon'e best year yet

Commish Frank T

As Commissioner I do not consider not having a season

this year to be a finality

Yes our head umpire moved out of town, and finding good umpires is quite difficult, which is why when we start up again we are going to train our own umpires

Initially, we were considering building a two-field complex

However, after further consideration that two-field complex has turned into a six-field complex with other commodities of which I will go into at a later date

Which is why I am not worried about looking for teams

So there you have it

For those who doubt if we can accomplish this epoch-making endeavor let me enlighten you

I have a BBA and a Masters degree and I lack 3 courses for a Doctorate in Education all while having completed all the course work for a Doctorate in International Business

I think its time I put all of my abilities to work

More to come as we go

Austin Baseball League's 2022 Spring Champions The Acereros

This Championship by the Acereros was a very special one

They beat the Cannons by a 7-6 score

They then beat the Blue Devils by a score of 9-8

And in this game the Acereros were losing 8-2

heading into the bottom of the final inning

but came back to score 7 runs and came out

the winner 9-8

Now in the championship game again the Acereros

were winning heading into the 4th inning by a score of 9-2

Then the Storm Chasers scored 5 and were now behind

by a score of 7-10

The Acereros then held the

Storm Chasers to 2 runs for the remainder of the game

while scoring 2 and won 12-9

This game was very close (for a championship game)

but the Acereros had some guy named Jay who

hit a 2-run homer in the 1st and a grand slam in the 2nd

What a game for a new team coached by Jerry Maldanado

who earned Coach of the Year honors (picture lower L)

Pictured in the lower R is none other than MVP Jay

who had more than great game

And pictured below are the Acereros fans who seemed

like they came out for every game in support

Our hats go out to Jerry and his Acereros for winning

ABL's Championship in our 10th year

Our hats also go out to the Blue Devils, coached by Nando,

Ronnie and Christian who took their team to the playoffs

losing to the eventual champions the Acereros

Our hats also go out to Adam Bradley who coached

an expansion team The Storm Chasers into the

championship game

This was a great year considering all the ups and downs

The Blue Devils jumped on the Acereros

scoring 7 runs in the 3rd inning

and held the #1 team to 2 runs through 6 innings

while scoring 1 run for an 8-2 lead

At the beginning of each game the managers

meet with the head umpire and talk baseball

and specifically who has home team advantage

In this case the home team was

the Acereros, again were losing 8-2

Well the Acereros were not a team to give up

and scored 7 runs in dramatic fashion thereby winning 9-8

The #1 team will now play the #2 team

the Storm Chasers Sunday the 31st

at Southeast Metro in Del Valle

Now this should be a great game

In the Playoffs

There always seems to be some surprises

So far no real surprises as the #2 seed the Storm Chasers

beat the #4 seed The Texas Lone Stars 9-3

With the #1 seed the Acereros earning a bye in the first round

Will now play the #3 seeded Blue Devils who beat the
#4 seeded Cannons 14-6

It now appears that the Acereros will have their hands full

The winner of this game will head to the championship game

on the 31st vs the #2 seed Storm Chasers

Still gonna be hot so everyone bring plenty of water

Austin Baseball League

is the only league that accepts players

throughout the season (for 2025-26) with the exception

 of during the playoffs

Our 2021 Champions - the Dodgers

Shown above are the Dodgers who are now ABL's 2021 Champions

Defeating the mighty Tacos 7-1

It was a close game through 4 innings with the score 1-1

But then the Dodgers scored 2 in the 5th, 3 in the 6th and 1 in the 7th

while holding the Tacos scoreless

Getting the traditional "water cooler"

was Head Coach "Fuzz"

who also earned "Manager of the Year" Award

The winning pitcher was Matt Cavazos holding the Tacos to 1 run in the 1st and scoreless the rest of the game

Matt also earned "Player of the Year" Award

Congratulations also go out to the Texas Tacos who led

all season long and was the no 1 seed going into the playoffs

But the Dodgers were building up their play just for this game

The Tacos are one of the premier teams around

closing in on their 100th win

At ABL parity is very important and we will continue

to build up our teams so when we play in other tournaments

ABL will be represented well

ABL would like to thank all of our players, managers

and Travis County Parks for allowing us to have our season

and finish with everyone happy we were able to do so

The Championship was up for grabs between

the Dodgers, Rebels and the Tacos

The Dodgers beat the Rebels 13-11 for the right to play

defending Champions Texas Tacos

The Dodgers were hot going into the playoffs

and beat the Tacos 7-1

Parity is extremely important to ABL

For any questions or comments

First there were 6, then 4, then 2, and one ultimately rose above the rest the Texas Tacos!

On 8/11/2019, the Texas Tacos played the Austin Bravos for the ABL 2019 Spring Championship, winning by a score of 6-0

HERE'S TO 2019 CHAMPIONS THE TEXAS TACOS!

    Texas_Tacos_2019_Champions_for_web.jpg

Austin_Baseball_League_Champion_shirts_for_website.jpg

This was no easy task for either the Tacos or the Bravos as the Bravos

remained consistent through May having not lost a game . . .

The Tacos were patient and even though they lost a game to the expansion team, the Dodgers, they did not lose another game after that

The Dodgers were the only team to beat both the Tacos & the Bravos in 2019. 15 games takes its toll & the Dodgers were eventually eliminated by the Bravos, while the Rebels, special thanks to managers Pres and Kade, were eliminated by the Tacos

Austin Baseball League, would like to congratulate all of our teams and their managers for another great year!

For the Love of the Game

Commish Frank T

Pictured above is Michael Chavez

Michael came to us when the coach at his High school

wouldn't give him the time of day Michael's freshman year.

After spending one season with ABL Michael went back his sophomore year

and not only made the team, but became a starting pitcher and 1st baseman.

After starting for three years and graduating Michael received a scholarship

to Ranger Community College in Ranger, Texas

ABL congratulates Michael for his hard work

and a special thanks to the several players, especially Brandon Weber III,

who helped Michael become the player that he is today

Congratulations Michael!

Speaking of sponsorship, Austin Baseball Leagues will help young teams

in need of baseballs, gloves, bats, uniforms an other forms of equipment

Providing we have the funds

If you care to help give Commish Frank a call at 512 736 4400

Coming Soon

We do it for the kids

ABL has a goal to build a complex where our youth can train and play baseball

We'd host affordable baseball clincs for those who cannot afford to attend expensive training camps

Any contribution would be appreciated, such as equipment and sponsorships of players

If any Investors or philanthropists

would like to learn more about our mission, reach out to Commissioner Frank T.

Over the years, ABL has helped youth with equipment such as baseballs, gloves, cleats, uniforms and bats

ABL is always ready to help young teams/players when possible

See our story on Michael at the bottom of our website

We have helped with high school baseball programs such as East Side Memorial/Johnston High School helping to redo their entire field,  pitching mound, obtain bats, gloves, baseballs, uniforms

 and netting

After spending a season with ABL their team made the playoffs for the first time in 19 years

Our hats are off to the team for making it happen

And a little bit of thanks to ABL

Thank you

For the Love of the Game!

From the Commissioner

My goodness, time has gone by pretty quick

But, when you are working on a BIG project

it takes some time

and time we have

My original vision was to help the kids who cannot afford  baseball equipment

Well that issue will be dealth  with when we begin play again in 1995

And that includes having the fields for them to  practice and play

We're also going to address the issue of girls softball with proper practice and playing fields

And the rest should fall in place as we go

So stay tuned as ABL continues to make history

Commish Frank T

I often get the question of

why play in our league

While our play is similar to

the other leagues-at ABL

we play for the right reasons and the right way

Take Daniel and his father who came out this past Fall having very little if any baseball experience

At ABL we share what we know and right off the bat our other players helped guide Daniel

By the end, Daniel was starting to field and hit  quite well as he grasped the idea behind playing baseball

How we do things and why so that the less frustration a player experiences the more energy and mind set he/she will have to enjoy the game and play much better as a player and as a teammate

So keep checking on us as to when we start up again

Commish Frank T

We have come a long way

in our 10 years

I vividly remember when

we started our league

we didn't have any equipment

not a bat or any baseballs

But little by little we kept

moving forward and upward

To those players who

helped us along the way

I applaud you and thank you for your help

Players like Brandon Webber, Jauquin Levya, Russell, The Tacos, The Bravos just to

name a few

For those of you who helped sponsor players I humbly thank you and I want you to know that I and our players

deeply appreciate you

While you know who you are personally I want to honorably mention Gilbert Rivera who helped us get started - Thank very much Gilbert

To Mr. Martinez, Leland and Steve Swanson for their

sponsorships

We are looking forward to 2025-26 as we continue to grow and make positive

changes

For now, that's it

Blessings to all

Commish Frank T

As a Former Marine and as Commish it is my privilege and honor to help Veterans when possible

This holds true for our teams, managers and players

One day we hope to have an all military team

Helping Veterans who cannot afford player fees is one way to help so anyone out there who would like to sponsor a veteran, get in touch with Commish Frank T

So please help spread the word
